References to items or other issues in a project are called Relationships in CMS Projects.  The Relationships section in the issue editor displays all item and issue references to the issue. If a project has multiple types of item references defined, they will appear as separate options in the menu, and will be listed separately when linked. You can add or remove these "links" between two objects at any time as long as no restrictions are configured. This article explains how to do this.

Prerequisites

  • You must have "Write" access rights to the CMS project

In this example, the selected issue has 3 item relationships - one to a Software component and two to Design requirements.

Adding Relationship Links

To create an item reference, copy the item or items from any item view using Ctrl+C or the right-click menu, then open the issue in a project view or in the Issues view, right-click anywhere in the Relationships section, and use any of the Paste Item Reference(s) options that are available for the item type that you copied.

To create an issue reference, copy the issue or issues from any issue view in the same project, then select the issue in a project view or in the Issues view, right-click anywhere in the Relationships section, and use the appropriate Paste issue option.

Removing Relationship Links

To remove an item or issue reference from an issue, select the issue in a project view or in the Issues view, right-click on the relationship, and use the Delete Relation(s) option to remove the link.

Batch Adding/Removing Relationship Links

It is possible to multi-select issues and link them all to the same item or issue as shown below.

Tip: If you accidentally paste an item or issue using the wrong relationship type, delete it and re-add it correctly.
