Libraries in SystemWeaver are used for managing access rights to items. Every item must always belong to exactly one library. The Libraries view is available when an item is selected in the structure tree. This article describes the view.

You access the view by clicking on the Libraries button on the Items ribbon or by selecting it in the View drop-down list.

Getting Acquainted with the View

When you open the view, the libraries associated with the items viewed in the sub-structure of the selected item (including the selected item itself) will display. The library for the selected item will be indicated in green as shown below where the "C-ACC" item belongs to the "Cybersecurity" library.

Note: If you are not seeing expected libraries in the view, it may be that the items associated with them are not turned on in the Structure tree. Items must be viewed in the tree for their libraries to be included in the view.

The Name column displays the names of the libraries.

The Number of items column indicates the number of items in the selected structure that belong to the specific library.

Any "parent" library that does not include an item from the selected structure will display a blank count and the library name will be shown in grayed-out text. In the above example, the "SystemWeaver Demonstration" root (top) library does not have any items from the selected "C-ACC" structure assigned to it.

Pinpointing Items for Selected Library

The view supports traceability back to the Structure tree so you can find the items in the tree.

Select a specific library in the view.

The indicator column to the far left in the Structure tree will display a green indication for all items that belong to the selected library. In the example above, three items in the selected structure belong to the"Product Data" library. By expanding the sub-structure in the tree, the items can be viewed.

Copying a Library

Although you can select and copy a library in this view to, e.g., prepare to move it , it's more efficient to use the Manage libraries page to work on library structures.

Tip: If you have selected a library in the Libraries view, that library will automatically be selected when you open the Manage libraries page.
