This article provides an example of how you can find and select all items in a given structure that belong to a specific Library.

Prerequisites

  • To find all items, you must first show all Part types (except Description references and References) in the Structure tree. There may be a system-wide setting already set for this purpose. Otherwise, you can set them all to view on-the-fly for each level of the tree. Note that viewing all Part types in the tree can cause slowness if the structure is very large and should only be done when necessary for a specific task.

  1. Once all Parts are viewed in the tree, load the Complete status view. This may take some time if the structure is very large.
  2. Review the default options at the top right and make changes if necessary, e.g., uncheck Exclude CS released if you wish to include items with CS released status.
  3. Sort the list by the Home Library column.
  4. Select the items belonging to the library of interest, right-click and select Copy (or Ctrl+C).The items will be placed on your clipboard.
  5. Switch your focus to the Structure tree and do Ctrl+G or use the Find occurrences of clipboard item menu option. Your hit count will display in the Find ribbon group and the hits will be highlighted in green (or yellow for version mismatches). To select them all, use the Select search result option
