There may be scenarios where there is a clash between multiple uses of the same SID, e.g., by different SystemWeaver servers, between a SID used by a user organization and a predefined SID used by a domain solution. This article describes how to change the SID of an item or part type.
Prerequisites
- Meta Modelling - Important Notes and Recommendations
- Assignment of the SW Architect role in the server
- An installation of the SystemWeaver Architect client (swArchitect)
- Familiar with the attribute that will be changed and the data in the attribute
- To get started, log in to the server with the swArchitect client, and go to the Refactorings tab.
- Select Change type SID in the left-hand menu.
- For Change SID of, use the browse button to select the type that will get a new SID. The current SID will auto-populate in the from box.
- Enter the new SID in the to box.
- When you are ready to make the change, click the Execute button. The change will be immediate.

Updating Configurations After a SID Change
Now that the type's SID has been changed in the meta model, the SID must be changed wherever it is being used in a configuration, e.g., in Grids, Graphs, Reports. See Updating Configurations After a SID Change.
