To generate a ReqIF suited for import into IBM Doors, keep these guidelines in mind:
- As with all ReqIF exports from SystemWeaver, the Ancestor handle of items and parts should be used as the identifier for Doors to be able to identify changes made in SystemWeaver. Depending on the importer used to import to Doors (e.g., PTC Requirements Connector or similar), the identifiers might need to be added as attributes.
- All information in SystemWeaver should be exported as the same SPEC-OBJECT type since this is how Doors imports the data. There is no reason to have more semantic information in the ReqIF than Doors is able to import.
- The top item exported from SystemWeaver needs to be added both to the specification objects and the specification hierarchy in order to be imported. It is not enough to have it as “SPECIFICATION”.
