Each application has a version that can be observed in the Welcome>About menu (for applications with a GUI) or on the Windows file Properties/Version tab.
In the swExplorer and swArchitect Clients:
In the swAdmin2 Cllient:
In Windows>File Properties:
The version includes four numbers, separated by a period.
Main Version Number
"1" in the example above. Compatibility between applications requires identical main version.
Secondary Version Number
"50" in the example above. Compatibility between applications requires identical main and secondary version.
Tertiary Version Number
"0" in the example above. Compatibility between applications does not require the same tertiary version. For example 1.33.1.x is compatible with 1.33.2.x. However, it is recommended that the tertiary version numbers are identical.
"22771" in the example. The build number uniquely identifies the software build that produced the application. Build numbers do not have to be identical for the applications to be compatible, unless the main or secondary version numbers are different.
